Wow OTTAWA, thanks for the warm welcome. From our appearance on CTV to meeting some super cool bloggers and locals (http://modexlusive.com/ and www.yowcitystyle.ca) you’ve been nothing short of amazing (beautiful city too, BTW).
I’m not going to lie we’ve got it pretty good here on the Bluesfest Grounds, http://www.ottawabluesfest.ca/ they’ve stationed us just southwest of the main stage. The line-up of artists has been a well cultivated mix of all genres, from Skillix, to Jason Aldean, Chance the Rapper and Kanye West (is Kim here?). They’re great and all but this country loving girl is waiting for heart throb Keith Urban to take the stage next Thursday.
Back to #festivalstyle, we stocked the truck full of lace kimonos, tie-dyed maxis, bead embellished tanks, denim shorts, the most amazing statement pieces, fringe bags and more. Basically, all the essentials for your festivals this summer. What we love most about #festivalstyle is it can be a mish mash of all your favorite prints and textures – layer it up, the more the merrier.
Check out some of our favorite festival looks……
We’re crushing hard on Michelle’s Free People inspired #FestivalStyle – Free People Muscle Madness Tank//Free People Sharkbite Short//Panama Hat// Seychelles Cassiopeia Sandal//Statement Necklace
This long lace kimono has got to be one of the most beautiful pieces on the truck. You HAVE to see it. Not only is it a great way to amp up your #FTCFestivalStyle but it’s great over your favorite dress or at the beach with your bikini.

Somewhat wiser, a little bit more versed in the ups and downs of mobile retailing and much more prepared, we think 2015 is going to be a smashing great year. We thought we’d share with you some of the exciting things we’re planning this year:
Truck Stops:
We’ve got a few new locations scouted, and we’ll be keeping some of our original spots – make sure to check our instagram and twitter for our locations each day! Have a location you think would be perfect for FTC? Let us know!
Road Trip:
Yup… we’re hoping to take the truck out West this Summer. If you live in Calgary or the surrounding area and would like to book a shopping party in July please email Ashley@fashiontruckcanada.com
New Lines and Labels:
We’re so excited to share with you some of the new lines we’ve picked up this year. Aussie gems The Fifth and Quay Eyewear will be making their official debut this Spring. We think they are oh so fab. And we can’t wait to bring out our Seychelles and Black Orchid Spring collections. Think awesome booties and ripped up jeans. Can’t wait.
Shopping Parties:
We’ve already got a great line-up of private shopping parties booked. If you’re interested in hosting a private party email Ashley@fashiontruckcanada.com to book a date. What could be better than a truck full of clothes, your best friends and wine? No, like we want to know. It literally doesn’t get any better.
Thanks for making year #1 a hit. Can’t wait for 2015 on the truck!
XO

This winter is one of the coldest. Nothing is worse then chapped lips, dry skin, and ugly hair. We don’t take any of these things lightly. This Winter we were proactive and invested in skin and hair products that would protect us from the cold.
Here are our tips:
Step up the moisture: As the air drops below negative zero, our hair tends to dry out. Use a deep moisturizing mask at least once a week to replenish your hair.
Dry Skin – Eww: Protect your skin! If you think doubling up on moisturizer will solve your dry skin problems…you’re wrong (sorry)! Purchase products that have aquaphor to boost the skin with an extra layer of protection. If you can’t find any aquaphor products at your local drug store try oil-based creams – they will do the job just as well!
$102.00 – Specialty stores
Kiss those dry lips goodbye: Don’t let your smile suffer from chapped lips. Products like Kiehl’s easily absorb into your lips, kissing dry lips goodbye. Ingredients including aloe and Vitamin A and E go to work to relieve and protect.

What better way to spoil your special someone than a sprinkled treat?
Ash baked this batch of heart shape sugar cookies – check out her recipe!
Ingredients:
1 Egg
1/2 tsp Almond extract
1 1/2 tsp Baking powder
1 Colored sugars
3 Cups Flour
1/4 tsp Salt
1 1/4 Cup Sugar
1 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
1 Cup Butter, unsalted
Instructions:
1.) In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Add in egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract and mix until combined.
2.) In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Make sure to spoon the flour into your measuring cup and level it off with a knife to ensure accurate measurements. Slowly add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and mix until completely combined.
3.) Roll the dough between 2 sheets of parchment or wax paper and place on a baking sheet in the refrigerator. Chill for about 20-30 minutes.
4.) Cut dough into shapes with cookie cutters and transfer to a baking sheet. Sprinkle with colored sugars and bake at 350 degrees for 8-12 minutes. Cool on baking sheet 5 minutes, then transfer to a baking rack to cool completely. Store in an airtight container. Makes about 40-50 cookies.
Have a very special Valentines day with your sweetheart

We are so excited for Spring 15! Expect bright colours, white, and of course denim (Canadian tuxedo).
Trends to look for:
Peached Pink: An update from the more sugary pastels that we have seen in previous seasons. This pink is tinged with a hint of peach for a warmer overall appearance.
Activewear: Mixing utility, comfort, and personal taste into an everyday look. This trend is not going anywhere!
Denim: Distressed, rips, patched, and faded. There are NO rules this season when it comes to picking the “right” denim pant or short.

2014 has been a whirlwind of exciting new adventures: 1. Helping to build fashiontruck canada in it’s first year of business and 2. Living in the city in an awesome condo with my wild and crazy roommate. Now bring on 2015!!
This year I want to focus on two things:
School: I am in my last semester at Humber College for Fashion Management. Graduation is quickly approaching – hopefully with Honours (fingers crossed)! Time to buckle down! School has always been challenging for me – to know I’ll be done in a few short months is not only exciting, but also a scary feeling. #therealworld
Meditation: This year I really need to learn to RELAX. I tend to stress, over think, and am constantly “on the go”. 2015 I need to find a happy medium. Taking up meditation is top on my list, along with my usual workout regime and eating clean.
LETS DO THIS 2015!!!

2014 was really good to me. I’m hoping for an even better 2015.
Balance: I can be known to run myself ragged. #scatteredlife. This year I want to make sure I have balance in my life: personally, mentally, physically and professionally.
Be Present: I’m going to shut off and take a break from technology. My phone has become a 5th limb in a bad way. This year I want to be more present each day: read, breathe, laugh and love. Enjoy each moment and mentally be present in everything I do.
